The Basics

Yes! You can use your Porte card to pay everyday bills that accept Visa debit card payments.

Sign up is easy and takes less than 2 minutes. Download the Porte App from the App Store® or Google Play™. Follow the steps in the Porte App. Your Porte account awaits you.

Porte is a deposit account established by MetaBank® and funds on deposit in your Account are FDIC insured through MetaBank. For purposes of FDIC coverage, all funds held on deposit by you at MetaBank will be aggregated up to the coverage limit, currently $250,000.00.

We don’t charge you a monthly maintenance fee. Ever. However, there may be other account fees. Review your Deposit Account Agreement for details.

Porte™ provides access to demand deposit and savings accounts without a brick and mortar location.  Porte has been designed around the idea that banking has a purpose, and is focused on a transparent and secure way to bank. The name Porte comes from the French word for “Door”. Porte is an open doorway to banking that gives back. Porte accounts are available to anyone over the age of majority who is a U.S. citizen or permanent resident in one of the 50 U.S. states or District of Columbia.

My Account

Use Mobile Check Capture1 in the Porte App to deposit check funds in your account.

Yes, you can! Your Porte Visa debit card works the same as any other debit card. Use it in your mobile wallet with Apple Pay® and Google Pay™, and with payment apps like PayPal®, CashApp®, and Venmo®.

You can add money in the following ways:

  • Direct Deposit is an easy way to add money each time you are paid, and with Faster Pay, you can enjoy your paycheck up to two days early2. Find out more about Faster Pay with Direct Deposit here.
  • Link your existing debit card from another account3
  • Deposit cash in person at one of our participating retailers4
  • Use Mobile Check Capture1

You may add cash at select retail locations for a fee up to $3.95 per transaction.4 Use the Location finder within the Porte App to find the closest location to add cash.

ATMs

Porte’s ATM network is MoneyPass® where you can access more than 32,000 no-fee ATMs. Use the Locations finder within the Porte App to find an ATM near you.

Yes, however there are no fees when you withdraw from one of the 32,000 MoneyPass ATMs. Look for the MoneyPass logo and enjoy fee-free withdrawals. All other ATMs may apply an owner’s surcharge fee in addition to the ATM Cash Withdrawal Fee disclosed in your Deposit Account Agreement.

Direct Deposit

Download your Direct Deposit form in the Porte App. Follow the instructions provided by your employer to finish setting up Direct Deposit. If you don’t need a canceled check or physical form, you can access your account and routing number under Account Info in the user profile.

When you have a direct deposit of $1000 or more in one calendar month, you enjoy some of Porte’s most powerful benefits, including getting paid up to 2 days faster2, unlocking a High-Interest Savings with a 3.00% APY5 and more! You will also gain access to Porte’s Overdraft Protection Service6.

Overdraft

There is no fee to enroll in the optional Overdraft Service. However, you may incur fees when you use the service. Once you overdraft, if you bring your account back to a positive balance within 24 hours, no fee is charged. After 24 hours, you’re charged a $20 fee per transaction that overdrafts your account by more than $10.

You may enroll in the Overdraft Service under Account Info in the user profile. You must receive direct deposits totaling at least $400.00 to your Account within thirty-five (35) days of your enrollment in the Service (direct deposits received prior to enrollment count towards this total). You must have a positive Available Balance in your Account at the time we activate the Service on your Account. Once you have met all eligibility requirements, your participation in the Service will be activated within twenty-four (24) hours. Once the Service is activated on your Account, you MUST continue to receive direct deposits totaling at least $200.00 to your Account every thirty (30) days or we will deactivate your participation in the Service.

You have 24 hours from the time of your transaction to repay the funds you overdraft. Let’s say you overdraft your account at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, then you have until 2:00 p.m. on Friday to add the funds into your account.

You can transfer money from your Savings Account, add cash at one of our partner locations4, receive funds through Direct Deposit, use mobile check capture, or transfer money from a debit card3 to bring your account balance positive.

Overdraft Choice is the feature that allows you to turn the optional Overdraft Service On and Off. When Overdraft Choice is turned off, your purchases will be declined if there is not a high enough available balance to cover the purchase. When Overdraft Choice is turned on, the optional Overdraft Service is enabled.  You must be enrolled and eligible for the Overdraft Service to use Overdraft Choice within the Porte app.

The optional Overdraft Service6 is Porte’s overdraft protection feature. Once you enroll and meet the eligibility requirements, you will be charged $20.00 for each transaction that overdraws your account by more than $10.00, up to a maximum of five (5) fees per calendar month. To avoid that fee, you have twenty-four (24) hours from the time of the first transaction that creates the overdraft to bring your Account back to a zero ($0.00) or a positive balance.

You can only use optional Overdraft Service when making debit purchases and ATM withdrawals. The Overdraft Service may not be used for ACH debit transactions or reoccurring debit transactions.

Savings Account

No, the Savings Account is included for those who have a qualifying Direct Deposit of $1,000 or more per month.

Once you receive a qualifying Direct Deposit of $1,000 or more in a month, you become eligible for Porte’s Savings Account. Once eligible, the option to set it up will show up in your Porte app.

Porte is a deposit account established by MetaBank® and funds on deposit in your Account are FDIC insured through MetaBank. We take the security of your money seriously, so rest easy knowing your funds are safe with Porte. 

Annual Percentage Yield, or APY, is the total amount of interest paid on your Savings Account, based on the interest rate and frequency of compounding for a 365-day period (366-day period in a leap year), and is expressed as a percentage.

There’s no minimum amount that you have to keep in your Savings Account. Choose to save as much or as little as you want.

Saving money now helps you take control of your future. You can use it to put away money now for short-term and long-term goals. Earn up to 3.00% APY1 on the first $15,000 deposited in your Savings Account and reach your savings goals.

Porte Perks

Unfortunately, you cannot ensure you will receive the same perk. Porte Perks perks are made available based on how and where each individual accountholder shops using the debit card connected to their account.

No. Once a perk expires there is no way to reinstate it. To stay up-to-date with all perks, visit the Porte Perks Page in the app.

Yes. The minimum purchase amount may include sales tax and/or shipping charges for the purchase. For example, if the perk requires a purchase of $50, and you spend $48 plus $2.88 sales tax for a total of $50.88, the purchase will qualify for the reward.

Yes, you may use a merchant’s coupon if: (a) the coupon hasn’t expired; (b) there are no usage restrictions described on the coupon or in the offer details; and (c) the amount paid for the purchase still meets the perk requirements after the coupon discount has been applied. For example, if the offer requires a purchase of $20, the amount of the purchase after the coupon discount has been applied must still be at least $20.

No, you do not have to enroll in or sign up for the program. The benefits of the program are automatically available to all eligible accountholders. To maintain eligibility, you must use your account in accordance with the terms and conditions of your Deposit Account Agreement and the terms and conditions of this program.  You may opt out at any time if you do not wish to participate in the program.

In most cases, you will not need a code or coupon to redeem a perk. However, each perk may have specific redemption requirements such as how much you need to spend, or other specified conditions. In the case of online perks (or other similar instances), a code may be included. You must read each offer carefully to determine its details.

No, there is no extra cost to participate in the Porte Perks program. This program is a benefit that is available to all eligible accountholders.  Please refer to your Deposit Account Agreement for any fees that may apply to purchase transactions using your debit card.

Tap an offer for any of the perks you see in on the dashboard or Porte Perks page to learn more about them. Once you click “Add to Card,” it’s activated and ready to be used. Then, visit the merchant before the offer expires and use your debit card to pay for the qualifying purchase.

Each perk will have an expiration date set by the merchant. The expiration date will appear in the details section of the perk. Click on the perk to expand it to see the expiration date. Once a perk has expired, it cannot be reinstated.

You can opt back in to the program by clicking the link on the Porte Perks page in the app.

No, your personal information is not shared with the merchant providing a perk. When you activate a perk, and make a purchase, the merchant does not know you are participating in this program.

Available Perks are offers that are brand new to you. To begin using the Available Perks, just click the “Add to Card” button.

Active Perks are offers that you’ve activated by pressing “Add to Card”. Once activated, you can earn your reward by shopping according to the terms of the offer. You will not earn a reward until you shop.

Porte Perks is a program that offers cash back for using your Porte card to purchase qualifying merchandise and services. We call these targeted offers perks. You’ll receive targeted perks, based on your shopping habits. You redeem these perks and get cash back (in the form of account credits) on these select purchases. There is no limit to how much cash back you can earn. So, the more you use your Porte card, the more perks you can receive, and the more cash back you can earn.

You can opt out of receiving perks by tapping the “Opt out of Porte Perks” button on the Porte Perks page in the app. If you opt out of Porte Perks but later change your mind, you can opt back in to the program on the app.

The Porte Perks account credit associated with the perk will appear on your account statement at the end of the calendar month following the calendar month during which you made the qualifying purchase. (For example: if you made the qualifying purchase in June, your account credit will appear on your account statement at the end of July.) Once they have been deposited to your account, each pending account credit will be identified so you will be able to verify each transaction.

Questions about products or services obtained through use of the offers should be directed to the merchant responsible for the perk.

Perks are based on how you shop with your debit card. If you don’t use your debit card very much you may not receive perks until you start using your debit card more often. That’s because sometimes we won’t have any perks that match your debit card activity. The more you use your debit card, the more chances you will have to receive relevant perks.

You will not earn any new Porte Perks account credits after you opt out, but any account credits you qualified for before opting out will appear on your account statement by the last day of the calendar month following the calendar month during which the transaction occurred.

Refer a Friend

The referral bonus will be paid within 24 hours after the qualifying direct deposit has been posted to your friend’s account.

Refer as many friends as you want! However, the maximum bonus amount you can receive is $50 per friend for up to 10 friends.

You send your friend your personal link which includes a referral code from within the Porte App. Your friend has to open a Porte account and receive a qualifying direct deposit in order for you both to receive the bonus. 

You will not be eligible for the referral bonus.

You can find your unique referral link in the Porte app. Go to the Refer a Friend section on the dashboard and follow the instructions.

Additional Features

You can choose from any of the charities shown on your dashboard in the Mobile App. Most charities are nationally known and cover a wide variety of causes.

No, you can only support one charity at a time. You can change charities at any time within the Porte app.

No, there is no cost to support a charity in #DoorToChange. You have the option to select a charity through the Porte App. Populus Financial Group will donate an amount equal to .05% of each purchase that you make with your debit card to the charity that you have selected.

You can see the amount generated from the Porte community from the #DoorToChange section in your Porte App.

Log in to your Porte app. If you are enrolled in #DoorToChange, you’ll see your chosen charity on your dashboard. If you’re not enrolled, then you’ll have the option to support a charity.

Look for the option to Support a cause that matters to you on your Porte app7 dashboard. Select a charity from the options available in the app and then select Start Supporting on the charity page.

You can change your selected charity as often as you like.
